fantasize

let's do something different, this time.
So instead of informing you all on the dullness that is my days of the week, i much rather this time tell you what i intend to do.. sometime.. before i graduate, preferably. a road trip, yes, yes i know that's obscenely common and whatevuh. but, i'm awfully stoked. the vast majority of my friends here are getting their licenses, and already have cars, so that's a plus. i just need to seek out a good group of people to go gallivanting about with. i think i might do this either this winter break, or perhaps summer? bahh.. but some places i want to go include the AutoCine Santana, in Arecibo, and the beaches in the western coast which have the most spectacular sunsets. i just want to bask in the smell of cheap cigarettes, cheap alcohol, listen to music in obscure beaches on this island, and just bahhhh relax. have a good time. i need it. hmph
i know. it's just that i've been looking over ryan mcginley's photographs and i'm really just getting the urge to recreate it all. sans nudity? no. avec nudity, obviously.

bush in porn

This is one of the many collage pieces made using snipets of porn, by british artist Jonathan Yeo.
He is an absolute beast, this is marvellous. Go to his website for more.
(due to excess laziness, i shant provide you all with the link, but i trust you to have the capability to open Google search and look for it yourself, eh? Wonderful)

is kissing sodomy?

i'm losing interest in my weekends, 'tis all but good. i feel like i haven't watched a film in months, though i'm sure i have. i miss Porto in little french glasses and staying home alone in the awkward limbo that occurs after you've watched 2 films in a row and are now popping a new one in the DVD player. I feel a wee bit disappointed with the clothing i ordered, but bah. i shall transcend the mundane! or, you know, not. well, currently i'm lacking any inspiration, it seems as if my muses lie dormant off in a cave somewhere, bah.
today, though, i am quite stoked for going to zee cinemah with Maru and watching Tetro which looks mindblowingly incredible, and tomorrow brunching with my mother at this marvellous french bistro, then at night watching Bored to Death.

So what excites me, then? Films, Food, and Jason Schwartzman?
I am perfectly okay with that notion.

the holy innocents

A lonely man thinks of nothing but friendship, just as a repressed man thinks of nothing but flesh. If Matthew had been granted a wish by a guardian angel, he would have requested a machine, one yet to be invented, permitting its owner to ascertain where each of his friends was at any given moment, what he was doing and with whom. He belonged to the race which loiters underneath a loved one’s window late at night and endeavours to decipher shadows flitting across the Venetian blind.

those were our times

i miss this.
and i made a playlist of the songs i listened to whilst in the mecca of bah, my happiness, shall we call it? It goes like this:
  1. Postcards from Italy, by Beirut
  2. Hey Joe, by Jimi Hendrix
  3. Red House, by Jimi Hendrix
  4. Sheila, by Jaime T
  5. Sticks N Stones, by Jamie T
  7. the Amelie soundtrack, by Yann Tiersen (a favourite of mine whilst going in the metro, reading García Márquez)
  8. I'm You Man, by Leonard Cohen
  9. Knife, by Grizzly Bear
  10. For Lovers, by Pete Doherty (WHICH I SAW LIVE IN LYON)
  11. and then the Night Chameleon song by me and Zon.

prophetic soul

by: Dorothy Parker
Because your eyes are slant and slow,
Because your hair is sweet to touch,
My heart is high again; but oh,
I doubt if this will get me much.

une petite "did you know..."

i am such a sucker for historical anecdotes and gossip. and to further make this wee obsession more blatant, i'll start posting some of them at random, alright? Lovely.

infinitas disculpas!

Lo sé. I'm becoming a neglectful blogger. But, seeing as I have, what, 3 readers? I might just forgive myself. My thirteen year old pseud0-janis self looks at me with enraged eyes, les digo. hmph.
